[ it's easy, being on the edge of slightly warmer, cozier now that ritsuka is here and wrapping around him. mafuyu sighs, and the way his face is tucked against ritsuka's neck means all his little inhales and exhales get softly feathered against his skin. even when he blinks sleepily, ritsuka can probably feel the drag of his eyelashes, assuming he's not too cold to feel that minute contact. if he's honest, mafuyu likes being held like this, kept close. maybe subconsciously it's a kind of proof: of not being left behind. he doesn't think about it so sharply though he sometimes has hazy dreams filled with those fears and aching memories that distort the present in his weakest moments.
but right now is nice. he feels safe. when he mumbles, his mouth touches against ritsuka's neck too. ]

[ unspoken: before i wake up. maybe it won't be clear or understandable, but the way their bodies are tangled together now it'd be rather hard for ritsuka to do anyway, perhaps. ]
[Ritsuka smiles softly, feeling Mafuyu's hair against his mouth and feeling like he's in heaven.
He doesn't know everything Mafuyu has been gone through, he knows a few details here and there, and the song, the song, it had left Ritsuka wanting to know it all. But at this moment, in here, together in the cold room with Mafuyu's little fluffy dog, he feels at ease.]
Wouldn't dream of it.
[His eyes are closed, and his breathing is slowing down, because he's safe, comfortable, and he can't help but fall asleep. He dreams of meadows and flowers covered in snow, but the snow melts, and the flowers are all in bloom, their colours shining bright against the small puddles of water the snow left behind.
Ritsuka wakes up slowly, blinking the sleep away. He doesn't know what time it is, but the ac had shut down at some point in time, making the room a stable, comfortable, yet warm temperature. He's wearing too much for how warm it is, but he doesn't want to move, because he looked down at Mafuyu's hair and smiled again. Somehow, while they slept, Ritsuka had curled his legs and arms around his boyfriend tightly, probably too tight.
He loosens his extremities slightly, feeling the static that comes from laying on his muscles but he doesn't care.
[ as often is the case, mafuyu's dream starts quiet and ends quiet. he seems to move through seasons like a gently timed picture book. he can't see what's on the next page but even being able to see the page behind him does not mean being able to turn back; though that's not really what he wants regardless. under his feet: the ripples of puddles stepped in but instead of water, it's chords. it's a single note that hung out in the air almost too long to be comfortable. it's summer sound like a person who stays.
when he wakes up, it's a likeminded gentle gradualness. unconsciously his thin arms tighten around ritsuka, and he buries his face more against his shoulder, making a soft sound, not articulate enough to even be a thought. still half asleep, really, dreams of a song clinging to him like a kept promise.
because of how he sort of burrows against ritsuka, and closer, his nose brushes the juncture of ritsuka's shoulder and neck where the skin is exposed thanks to his lopsided collar. in his bed on the floor, kedama continues to sleep deeply, the faintest little noises now audible since the ac has finally calmed down. ]
[Ritsuka has his eyes closed as he listens to Kedama's noises, and Mafuyu's breathing next to him.
When he feels Mafuyu tighten his hold around him, Ritsuka smiles and slowly openes his eyes. He blushes slightly when he feels where Mafuyu's face is, his brain going a thousand miles per second, but he doesn't let it ruin the moment.
He lifts his free hand and pats Mafuyu's head lightly, feeling the soft strands of his hair with his fingers. He doesn't say anything yet, just playing with Mafuyu's hair a bit before letting his hand drop on his side.]
[ in addition to the press of his nose and mouth, there's a soft huff of warmth, a vibration as mafuyu hums sleepily, still 'waking' in a sense. there's another pleased sound for the feeling of ritsuka's fingers in his hair. it's nice. soothing. in a way, mafuyu could fall back asleep like this but he doesn't, relaxing more against ritsuka anyway though as he feels his hand on his side. ]

[ they fell asleep just whenever so it might actually be nighttime! but mafuyu isn't thinking about that as he finally lifts his head to peer sleepily up at his boyfriend. ]
Mm? Oh... [ the way mafuyu's expression opens up a bit amused is quiet but also still sleepy, reaching up to pet ritsuka in return, a funny kind of 'there there' sort of petting motion as he wriggles to sit up, freeing his boyfriend from him, though hopefully temporarily. mafuyu was quite comfortable too but the sooner ritsuka goes, the sooner he can come back to bed. sound logic...except...
...kedama will, of course take the vacated spot. ]
[Ritsuka sighs a sad sigh, not wanting to leave Mafuyu just yet, but really, really needing to pee.
He stands up, smiles at his boyfriend, then leaves the room to relieve himself. When he done, and washing his hands, he notices the water is cold, but doesn't care. Looking at his messed up hair in the mirror, Ritsuka smiles. Time to go back to bed then.
He opens the door to the room, only to find a puppy where his own body used to be.]

[He gets close to the bed, watching Mafuyu with a look that screams 'help' as he tries to find a way to get into bed without disturbing the dog, and failing.]
[ their little sounds of communication: warm in the no longer frigid but still not exactly temperate room. he smiles softly at him again, and this one is even more languid, soft lay of his lashes and slight pout to his mouth: come here. patting the bed and slightly petting kedama at the same time, who burrows closer to mafuyu, which will also give uenoyama more room but remain between them! ]
[Ritsuka smiles and chuckles, and gets in the bed, petting Kedama's soft fur as he gets comfortable.
He watches Mafuyu's face for a bit, enjoying the sleepy look he's getting. His eyelashes are so long and pretty, his eyes just plain gorgeous, and his lips...
[ soft whuffles from kedama. the returning bit of warmth as ritsuka gets back into bed. absence of hurry, though maybe they should check what time it is (it doesn't occur to mafuyu though.)

He's missing the look Mafuyu is giving him, and he leans in, without thinking, without the voices in his head going crazy, and puts his lips on Mafuyu's, softly, not forceful like the last time.
[ it's gentle. ritsuka is warm as summer. mafuyu loves him, everything of him, feels so lucky that ritsuka found him that day in the otherwise empty stairwell. the hand on his face slips back easily to curl at his nape, a soft plea to stay close. one kiss becomes a second, equally soft. then mafuyu just noses against ritsuka's jaw, quiet affection.
kedama meanwhile whuffles again and sidles down to curl up again but in his own bed, a distinct sigh before soft little snores resume. ]
[Ritsuka is blushing furiously, kissing Mafuyu is like going to heaven, he's sure of it. He takes a deep breath, and smiles softly, petting Mafuyu's hair and chuckling at the soft touches.]

[He doesn't want to open his eyes, just wanting to listen to the beat of Mafuyhu's heart against his own chest.]
[ not dissuaded at all, rather than relent, mafuyu kisses his jaw again up and then just beneath ritsuka's ear. perhaps he undermines it a bit, since it sort of devolves into a slight nuzzle, not unlike mafuyu has indeed done to the other occupant of the room! but there's also a soft sort of breathy giggle.
he's happy.
sometimes it's still a revelation. he loves him; he's grateful.

it shouldn't be possible for mafuyu to tangle himself closer...but he somehow manages. getting out of bed will be even harder now, if ritsuka even tries! ]
[Being here, like this, listening to Mafuyu's giggle, is heaven.
Ritsuka had never experienced anything like this, much less having someone he loves so much. It's both amazing and a little scary, but here, tangled with Mafuyu in his bed, it's the best thing that has ever happened to him.
He moves his free arm up, petting Mafuyu's head, feeling the fluffy hair underneath his fingers and smiling.
Not wanting to break the spell by speaking, he closes his eyes, enjoying the moment.]
[ mafuyu also doesn't speak, but rather nestles closer, only to then angle back to peer at ritsuka. they are so close he is almost certainly cross-eyed but he doesn't care, giving into a whim without truly thinking it through: angling in to press a soft kiss to the line of ritsuka's jaw. it's brief and arguably chaste, but warm. very, very warm.
then, having leaned or moved back far enough to do so, mafuyu reaches out and up to sort of pet at ritsuka's face, back into his hair.
and still, though he doesn't speak, he hums, some nameless melody that hasn't been written into a song.
